Henry Webber threw what may have been (and I’ll try to confirm) his first sanctioned 300 game last night while pacing in the His & Hers league. There are two parts to the full story of this game. The first is that Henry’s father passed away last week and Henry wanted to do it for him.
The other part is that Henry originally thought the game would not be sanctioned and not be eligible for awards. He didn’t that is, until I saw Henry’s photo post on Facebook and told him about USBC Rule 107d (I had to look it up to make sure I had the rule number right), which states, among other things, that scores thrown by USBC members while pacing in sanctioned leagues are eligible for all individual awards, including high score awards like the 300 game. Henry told me today that the league officials had to consult Bob Young to make sure I had the rule correct, but Bob was able to confirm it.
Congrats Henry! π
And it was, indeed, his first sanctioned 300 game. π
