The People’s Tournament reported Michael Reed (Boston Bowl, 175 avg.) as the winner of the event held on Sept. 15 at Westgate Lanes, defeating Dale Doody (Bradley Bowl {CT}, 181 avg.) by a score of 225-197 (with handicap) in the final match. Westgate Lanes cashers were Paris Cook (203 avg.), Linwood Cowen Jr. (171 avg.), and Al Chorney (180 avg.); if I haven’t mentioned it before, I’m happy to say Al Chorney is a bowler in my league. 😀
The People’s Tournament also announced that the December tournament on the 14th & 15th of that month will feature a guaranteed $20,000 first prize. Westgate Lanes has been running $10 sweepers into this tournament on many league nights, so you may have a chance to win an entry into this tournament through your league. 🙂
