“King of the Hill” to return to Westgate Lanes Feb. 1

Ray has been telling me he’s been planning this, and now that plans are formally in place, I can report that the “King of the Hill” tournament is set to return to Westgate Lanes beginning on Feb. 1 and running for five Saturdays, with no tournament on the weekend of the People’s Tournament (Feb. 22), at 4 PM. If you’re not familiar with how one of these tournaments is set up, the main thing is that the “king” is automatically seeded into the championship match if he/she enters. Bowlers will bowl two games of qualifying, with the top four advancing to the championship round (which I believe is stepladder format). Entry fee will be $20 for each tournament, and it is handicapped (I believe 85% of 200, but I’ll double-check). More details, including a prize list breakdown by number of entries, are posted on the pro shop window, and Ray can answer any other questions.

The tournaments, of course, will be added to the calendar.
