The first day of this year’s city tournament was quiet in the way of honor scores, and nobody was really killing it on the fresh Abbey Road for the minor events (doubles & singles). I’m running brackets and side pots at the tournament this year, and the low scores in the minors killed the action for team event. One of the now “usual suspect” teams, Montgomery Industries (line-up of Vin D’Aleo, Gino Beniamino, Ed Roberts, and Joe Campbell), was crushing in the team event, to the point that Gino and Ed were the two left in the third game of the only bracket I ran, and, knowing their arrangement, I gave Ed all of the bowlers’ money out of the bracket and broke down for the day.
More of the same tomorrow (and hopefully with some good scores).
