This season in the TNBA league may be best remembered for Jessica Lowe’s 300 game and Hakim Emmanuel’s first 800 series, but Mike Griffin put a “bow” on that league’s season last Friday with a 290 game. Good job! 🙂

Files news about honor scores rolled in local leagues and tournaments
Jim Simon, Mike Botelho shoot 300 in Westgate Mixed
Meanwhile, the Westgate Mixed league had a couple of 300s on their position night, led off by Jim Simon’s (Sean Richard’s video is below):
That 300 was followed in the second game by one by Mike Botelho, with video below:
This was Mike’s first 300 at Westgate, but he told me he’d previously bowled 300s in Taunton and Somerset.
WTG guys! 🙂
Gino Beniamino bowls 300, “Mr. 900” 299 in Pepsi league
There were a couple of big games in the Pepsi league last night, not the least of which was a 300 by Gino Beniamino, and he made another close approach to one later in the night with a 289. A more notable game than that, however, was bowled by “Mr. 900” Hakim Emmanuel, who had his very first 299 game after the run of 300 games that started with the 900 series. As happens often, a 10 pin stood on the last shot.
Nice bowling guys! 🙂
Jim Ferguson sets new association record average
Tom Hedding’s hold of the association record average lasted just one season, as Jim Ferguson, despite shooting only 643 last night, hung on to post a 240.83 average in the Thursday Night Patriots league, which is, presumably, the new association record by a fraction of a pin. Congrats! 🙂
Mark Zimmerman shoots 300 in Patriots league
The Patriots league, except for the playoffs, couldn’t end without one more honor score, and it was Mark Zimmerman who provided it, with a 300 game. I got my own video, which is below (my apologies for the quality, or lack thereof):
Nice bowling! 🙂
Shawn Hagan bowls 297/813 in Malden
Shawn Hagan reported on Facebook that, on his position night in the Trios + 1 league at Town Line, he posted 297-289-227 for an 813 set. Great bowling! 🙂
John Camara tosses 300 game in Patriots league
Congrats to John Camara, one of the subs in the Patriots league this season, for a 300 game in that league last week. 🙂
Jim Ferguson rolls 300 in state tournament in Chicopee
He’s done it enough for me to expect it now: Jim Ferguson had a 300 game in doubles today at the open state tournament at AMF Chicopee Lanes, which makes it his third in that tournament that I can remember. Sean Richard got the video this time:
Nice bowling! 🙂
Chris Zalewski bowls 300 in youth state tournament at Westgate
Chris Zalewski had the high game of the season on Saturday morning this season (289), but picked the doubles event of the youth state tournament today at Westgate to bowl his first 300 game. Ken Gerraughty provided me with a copy of the video, which I uploaded to the (new) association page and appears below:
Nice bowling! 🙂
Matt Richard shoots 290 in Patriots league
Sean Richard’s bowling son, Matt, has been close to 300 a few times, and was again with a 290 last night in the Patriots league. Keep plugging away, Matty! 🙂
Shawn Hagan throws 300 in Malden
Shawn Hagan posted on Facebook that he had 300 game #17 last night in the Trios + 1 league at Town Line in Malden. He and Jim Ferguson have had a friendly competition between them for the 300 games, and Shawn, after several attempts to go one-up, finally got that.
Nice bowling! 🙂
“Mr. 900” slams 300/815 for first 800 series
It was known at the time of his 900 series that Hakim Emmanuel never had an 800 series. But, tonight, in the TNBA Mixed league, he bowled his first 800 series by going 278-237-300 for an 815. There have been many coincidences surrounding Hakim, and his first 800 series came on lanes 47 & 48, the 900 pair, which this video of Hakim’s last two strikes recorded by Kris Higgins confirms:
Congrats Hakim! 🙂
Jim Ferguson 299/835, Bill Major 300/824 lead wild Patriots league scoring night
Last night was such a crazy scoring night in the Patriots league that I felt the best way to present the scores would be in list form:
- Hall of Famer Jim Ferguson had the best night of all, going 299-279-257 for a personal high 835 set.
- Hall of Famer Bill Major posted 266-258-300 for an 824 series.
- No honor game for “TomTom” Hedding, but he threw 269-277-268 for an 814 series.
- Finally, “Mr. 900” Hakim Emmanuel put up a 300 game first game, as did Ralph Dahlgren. Hakim’s was on 25 & 26, meaning he now has a 300 game in the original building (up to lane 32).
Nice bowling all around guys! 🙂
UPDATE: Sandi Litchfield got this video of Ralph’s last shot:
Bill Major rolls 299 in Patriots league
This is my first mention of this bowler in some time: Association Hall of Famer Bill Major had a 299 game last week in the Patriots league. Nice going! 🙂

Rene Thompson posts 300 in Rhythm & Bowling
He waited 20 years for it, but Rene Thompson can now claim multiple 300 games after bowling his second one last night in the Rhythm & Bowling league. Rene posted his video on Facebook, which I share below:
Good shooting Rene! 🙂

Association Hall of Famer Jim Ferguson posted on his Facebook that he had another 300 last night in the Patriots league, his third of the season. WTG! 🙂
Hal Brown fires 298 in Patriots league
Mentioning Hal Brown for the first time, who had a 298 game in the Patriots league last week. Hal bowls the league with his father and grandfather, Herb Brown Jr. & Sr., and the three of them also bowl in the Monday Night Mixed league in Kingston.
WTG! 🙂
Kris Voss posts 278 in Thur. Handicap Doubles
I’m able to mention Kris Voss today, because she had a 278 game last week in the Thursday doubles league. Fact about Kris Voss: She is the first woman to bowl a 300 in certified competition at Westgate (Sue Sutter had the first, but that was in the unsanctioned Sunday PM Couples league before she joined my Sunday league.).
Nice bowling! 🙂
Joe Chamrin shoots first 300 in Westgate Mixed
While I was wrapping up my 248, Joe Chamrin, in the other league, was busy putting the finishing touches on his first 300 game. Nice bowling! 🙂
Pat Carrara fires 290/821, Jayme Silva 804 in Brockton city tournament
A couple of honor scores from yesterday’s city tournament to pass along, both in singles: Pat Carrara, with 290-290-241 for an 821, and Jayme Silva, with 267-258-279 for an 804. Nice bowling! 🙂
Update: Forgot I wanted to note this, too: Dave Chalifoux converted the 7-10 split during his team event yesterday, as well. 🙂
Peter Cappola shoots 300, Kevin Thibeault 298, Rob Young 279 in 2018 Brockton city tournament
There were a couple of honor games today on Day 1 of the Brockton city tournament, Kevin Thibeault’s 298 in doubles, and Peter Cappola’ 300 game in singles, the video of which I present below:
Good bowling, guys! 🙂
Update: Rob Young told me that, in singles, he had the back 11 after leaving the 8-10 for a 279. Good recovery! 🙂
Jake Tobin shoots 299 in Patriots league
Notable last week in the Patriots league: Jake Tobin, a member of my Wednesday night league, posted a 299 first game. Nice bowling! 🙂
Sean Richard tosses 822, Bob Dimuccio Jr. 299 in Digibowl at Lang’s
Per the above post, “$eany Ka$h” posted 286-279-257 for an 822 set in the first three of four qualifying games of the Digibowl Tournament Series event today at Lang’s in Cranston, RI. Good work! 🙂
UPDATE: Seany later posted that Pepsi league bowler Bob Dimuccio (Jr.) had a 299 game in the tournament. Nice going! 🙂
Dave Kullas bowls 300/801 in Hyannis
Dave Kullas is certainly making the most of the last days in Hyannis as, fresh off an 855 last week, he put up 232-300-269 for an 801 last night in the Dave Smith Memorial Classic. Alexander Rebelle posted this video of Dave’s 300 game, which was shareable on Facebook:
Great bowling! 🙂
Tim Major fires 300, Rene Thompson 298 in Rhythm & Bowling
I’ve noted two nice games last week in the updated Rhythm & Bowling standings on LeagueSecretary.com (dated a week behind), Tim Major’s 300 and a 298 by Rene Thompson. Nice bowling guys! 🙂
Timmy Moss bowls 290 in TNBA league
This name is new to the blog: Timmy Moss had a 290 game last week in the TNBA league. WTG! 🙂
Clay E. Hill tosses perfecto in Patriots league
Shout out to Clay Hill, a former member of my Wednesday league, who shot 300 last week in the Patriots league. His father, also a former member of my league, is also Clay Hill, so that’s why I had to distinguish between them in the subject of this post.
Congrats! 🙂
