Nathan Crouse slams 300/833, Qwadaris Rembert 300/812 in Pepsi league

Not quite back to Pepsi league yet, but two bowlers had nights of note last night, as Nathan Crouse posted 277-256-300 for an 833, and Qwadaris Rembert 235-300-277 for an 812. Some notes to come, but a couple of videos, first, starting with one Brian Gaskill provided of Nathan’s 300:

And a video Qwadaris posted on his Facebook:

And the notes:

  • Nathan’s 833 beat Jon Hester’s 824 of last season, and conditions this year are supposed to be a little tougher, though I was told they were pretty soft last night.
  • And Nathan led his team, Rick O’Shea, to a 1,061 third game and 2,950 series, both of which are over the USBC reporting threshold for team scores.

Congrats guys! 🙂

Dave Kullas fires 300/855 in Hyannis

Pepsi league regular Dave Kullas posted on his Facebook that he had a 276-279-300 performance for an 855 set last night in his league in Hyannis, the Dave Smith Memorial Classic. Seems he was also wearing a hat from when Dave Smith’s family owned the place, as the Ryan Family Amusements there will be closing soon.

Sorry to hear about the closing, but good bowling, anyway. 🙂

Dan Robinson shoots 290/845, Stephen Major, Danny Zizza 300 in NAT doubles

Getting all of yesterday’s honor scores out of the way…

The biggest score of the day was turned in by association Hall of Famer Dan Robinson, who posted 288-267-290 in his first three qualifying games for an 845 set. Also, Stephen Major had a 300 game on the first squad, and Danny Zizza 300 on the second squad. For Zizza, it was his first 300 game, and it came on lanes 47 & 48, meaning he now has something in common with “Mr. 900” Hakim Emmanuel, who also had his first three 300 games on that pair.

Results (hopefully) to come later. Congrats everyone! 🙂

“Mr. 900”, Jewell Wilson, Jessica Lowe score 300, Grant Henderson III 299 in TNBA league

If you count all of his perfect games, “Mr. 900” Hakim Emmanuel now has three 900 series’ worth of them (including the actual 900, of course) after rolling his 9th tonight in the TNBA league. But that wasn’t the only big number put up in the league tonight, as Jewell Wilson and Jessica Lowe also had one each, and Grant Henderson III added a 299, as well. Nice bowling, peeps! 🙂

Update: Jessica Lowe also had games of 216 and 210 (not sure of the order) for a 726 set. Nice bowling! 🙂

Steve Huntress bowls 300, Jim Ferguson 299 in Patriots league

Jim Ferguson shot me a message on Facebook that not only did he have a 299 game last night in the Patriots league, but that Steve Huntress, one of the two-time Bowler of the Year tournament winners, had a 300 game. Nice going! 🙂

UPDATE: An alert Sean Richard posted on the association Facebook page that this might have been Steve’s first 300 game, and I was able to confirm that via bowl.com. Thanks Seany! 🙂

UPDATE: Steve Huntress informed us that it was his second 300 game.

Steve Travers fires 300/827, Mike Trent Jr. first 300 in Patriots league

Two perfect games to report from last night, one by association Hall of Famer Steve Travers, who bookended his with games of 259 and 268 for an 827 set, and the other was the first 300 by Mike Trent Jr.

I missed getting Steve’s game (though I’d like to at some point), but I did get Mike’s, which is below:

The game shown was on lanes 25 & 26, which is probably the closest to the desk I’ve ever recorded.

Congrats guys! 🙂

Shane Litchfield bowls 299/824 in Westgate scholarship tournament

Results of today’s Westgate Memorial Scholarship Tournament (all scores with handicap, prize in parentheses):

Boys

  1. Shane Litchfield 830 ($500)
  2. Chris Zalewski 738 ($250)

Girls

  1. Ashley Major 714 ($250)

Shane deserves special mention here, as he went 299-249-276 for an 824 scratch series, his first honor scores (albeit unsanctioned).

Congrats to everyone! 🙂

Bill Briggs shoots first Pepsi league 300

Bill Briggs has been a member of the Coke (now Pepsi) league since its beginning, and finally got his first 300 in the league. I should also say that Bill has been one of the biggest supporters of my social media efforts, so I’m happy he finally has a 300.

The video I got is below:

Congrats Bill, you’ve earned this one! 🙂

EDIT: My report that this was Bill Briggs’ first 300 ever was in error, and this was just his first one in the Pepsi league. The post has been edited.

Stephen Major shoots 816 in His & Hers; Ray Fischer bowls 290

Congrats tonight to Stephen Major, who recorded 238-280-298 for an 816 set in the His & Hers league, which was his 2nd 800 series. I also need to note a backlogged score from that league last week, as Stephen’s grandfather, Ray Fischer, had a 290 game, so congrats to him, as well. 🙂

UPDATE: I just realized that, with Tim Major’s 265 third game, Stephen and Tim have a 563 doubles game, over the USBC’s reporting threshold. Congrats! 🙂
