Dan Esdale originally planned to take this entire season off, but rejoined the Westgate Mixed league about halfway through the season, and had a 300 tonight, his first big number in over a year. Congrats! 🙂

Nathan Crouse slams 300/833, Qwadaris Rembert 300/812 in Pepsi league
Not quite back to Pepsi league yet, but two bowlers had nights of note last night, as Nathan Crouse posted 277-256-300 for an 833, and Qwadaris Rembert 235-300-277 for an 812. Some notes to come, but a couple of videos, first, starting with one Brian Gaskill provided of Nathan’s 300:
And a video Qwadaris posted on his Facebook:
And the notes:
- Nathan’s 833 beat Jon Hester’s 824 of last season, and conditions this year are supposed to be a little tougher, though I was told they were pretty soft last night.
- And Nathan led his team, Rick O’Shea, to a 1,061 third game and 2,950 series, both of which are over the USBC reporting threshold for team scores.
Congrats guys! 🙂
Shane Litchfield wins season-end travel league tournament
The junior travel league season ends with a singles eliminator tournament, and Sandi Litchfield reported on her Facebook that her son Shane won it today at Wonder Bowl with games of 298, 258, and 241 for a 792 series (with the 298 counting as an honor score for blog purposes). Nice job! 🙂
Dave Kullas fires 300/855 in Hyannis
Pepsi league regular Dave Kullas posted on his Facebook that he had a 276-279-300 performance for an 855 set last night in his league in Hyannis, the Dave Smith Memorial Classic. Seems he was also wearing a hat from when Dave Smith’s family owned the place, as the Ryan Family Amusements there will be closing soon.
Sorry to hear about the closing, but good bowling, anyway. 🙂
Shawn Hagan posts 300/805 in Malden
I saw Shawn Hagan posted on Facebook that he had 300-269-236 for an 805 tonight in the Trios + 1 league at Town Line in Malden. Nice bowling! 🙂
Jim Ferguson shoots 300 in Southeastern Mass. association tournament
Got wind today of a 300 game by Brockton association Hall of Famer Jim Ferguson in the doubles event of the Southeastern Mass. association tournament Sunday at Wonder Bowl, which he dedicated to Harry Thibeault. Shawn Hagan was Jim’s doubles partner, and there is video on Danny Khuu’s Facebook. Congrats Jim! 🙂
Bob Hamilton bowls delayed 299 in Westgate Mixed
Association Hall of Famer Bob Hamilton had the front nine in the second game when Harry Thibeault passed away, and returned the next week to finish off a 299 game. Thanks Bobby! 🙂
Sean Richard shoots 290 in Patriots league
I was late checking the Patriots league standing sheet for last week, but did note that Sean Richard had a 290 game in that week. Nice going! 🙂
Danny Khuu throws 300/836 in Northeastern Open
Danny Khuu bowled the Northeastern Open Championships at Yankee Lanes in Keene, NH yesterday instead of staying home, and he reported that he had 300-247-289 for an 836 in his doubles event. Nice bowling! 🙂
Dan Robinson shoots 290/845, Stephen Major, Danny Zizza 300 in NAT doubles
Getting all of yesterday’s honor scores out of the way…
The biggest score of the day was turned in by association Hall of Famer Dan Robinson, who posted 288-267-290 in his first three qualifying games for an 845 set. Also, Stephen Major had a 300 game on the first squad, and Danny Zizza 300 on the second squad. For Zizza, it was his first 300 game, and it came on lanes 47 & 48, meaning he now has something in common with “Mr. 900” Hakim Emmanuel, who also had his first three 300 games on that pair.
Results (hopefully) to come later. Congrats everyone! 🙂
“Mr. 900”, Jewell Wilson, Jessica Lowe score 300, Grant Henderson III 299 in TNBA league
If you count all of his perfect games, “Mr. 900” Hakim Emmanuel now has three 900 series’ worth of them (including the actual 900, of course) after rolling his 9th tonight in the TNBA league. But that wasn’t the only big number put up in the league tonight, as Jewell Wilson and Jessica Lowe also had one each, and Grant Henderson III added a 299, as well. Nice bowling, peeps! 🙂
Update: Jessica Lowe also had games of 216 and 210 (not sure of the order) for a 726 set. Nice bowling! 🙂
Steve Huntress bowls 300, Jim Ferguson 299 in Patriots league
Jim Ferguson shot me a message on Facebook that not only did he have a 299 game last night in the Patriots league, but that Steve Huntress, one of the two-time Bowler of the Year tournament winners, had a 300 game. Nice going! 🙂
UPDATE: An alert Sean Richard posted on the association Facebook page that this might have been Steve’s first 300 game, and I was able to confirm that via bowl.com. Thanks Seany! 🙂
UPDATE: Steve Huntress informed us that it was his second 300 game.
Qwadaris Rembert shoots 300 in Lang’s Invitational
I found out the other night that Pepsi league “rookie” (and NEBA champion) Qwadaris Rembert shot a perfect game that night in one of his other leagues, the Lang’s Invitational at Lang’s Bowlaramam in Cranston, RI. Nice bowling!
Jessica Lowe fires 740 set in TNBA league
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted about her, but congrats to Jessica Lowe, who posted 269-225-246 for a 740 effort last Friday night in the TNBA league. Nice bowling! 🙂
Sean Richard fires 300 in AXS Kings & Queens
“$eany Ka$h” bowled the AXS Kings & Queens mixed doubles event at Old Mountain Lanes today with Sandi Litchfield, and came away with at least his 96th 300 game. If I found that they won the tournament, there will be a follow-up post.
Nice bowling Seany! 🙂
Johnnie Funches scores 290 in Rhythm & Bowling
Unlike my own Sunday league, the Boston Rhythm & Bowling has an early session on Super Bowl Sunday rather than take the week off, and I noted that, on that day, Johnnie Funches had a 290 game. Nice going! 🙂
Steve Travers fires 300/827, Mike Trent Jr. first 300 in Patriots league
Two perfect games to report from last night, one by association Hall of Famer Steve Travers, who bookended his with games of 259 and 268 for an 827 set, and the other was the first 300 by Mike Trent Jr.
I missed getting Steve’s game (though I’d like to at some point), but I did get Mike’s, which is below:
The game shown was on lanes 25 & 26, which is probably the closest to the desk I’ve ever recorded.
Congrats guys! 🙂
Shawn Syde throws 2nd 300 of season in Sunday Niters
I didn’t know about it until I saw the standing sheet today, but Shawn Syde posted his 2nd 300 of the season in the Sunday Niters league the other night. Nice bowling! 🙂
Shane Litchfield bowls 299/824 in Westgate scholarship tournament
Results of today’s Westgate Memorial Scholarship Tournament (all scores with handicap, prize in parentheses):
Boys
- Shane Litchfield 830 ($500)
- Chris Zalewski 738 ($250)
Girls
- Ashley Major 714 ($250)
Shane deserves special mention here, as he went 299-249-276 for an 824 scratch series, his first honor scores (albeit unsanctioned).
Congrats to everyone! 🙂
Jake Tobin fires 290 in Patriots league
And congrats to one of Westgate’s younger bowlers, Jake Tobin, who posted a 290 game tonight in the Patriots league. 🙂
Ryan Yelle shoots 826 in Westgate Mixed
Congrats to association Hall of Famer Ryan Yelle, whom I found out tonight went 269-279-278 for an 826 set last night in the Westgate Mixed league. 🙂
Grant Henderson III posts 300 in TNBA league
Grant Henderson III of the TNBA league reported to me that he had his 3rd perfect game last Friday night, and sent me the video I share below:
Congrats! 🙂
Keith Seto bowls 290 in Brunswick Mixed
Embarrassed that I let this slip by because it was in one of my own leagues, but Keith Seto had a 290 game the other week in the Brunswick Mixed league. Congrats! 🙂
Bill Briggs shoots first Pepsi league 300
Bill Briggs has been a member of the Coke (now Pepsi) league since its beginning, and finally got his first 300 in the league. I should also say that Bill has been one of the biggest supporters of my social media efforts, so I’m happy he finally has a 300.
The video I got is below:
Congrats Bill, you’ve earned this one! 🙂
EDIT: My report that this was Bill Briggs’ first 300 ever was in error, and this was just his first one in the Pepsi league. The post has been edited.
Ray Fischer scores 298 in His & Hers
Stephen Major told me yesterday that when he had his 298 game the other night in the His & Hers league, his grandfather, Ray Fischer, was doing the same thing on an adjacent pair. Nice bowling, Ray! 🙂
Stephen Major shoots 816 in His & Hers; Ray Fischer bowls 290
Congrats tonight to Stephen Major, who recorded 238-280-298 for an 816 set in the His & Hers league, which was his 2nd 800 series. I also need to note a backlogged score from that league last week, as Stephen’s grandfather, Ray Fischer, had a 290 game, so congrats to him, as well. 🙂
UPDATE: I just realized that, with Tim Major’s 265 third game, Stephen and Tim have a 563 doubles game, over the USBC’s reporting threshold. Congrats! 🙂
Rick Fallon bowls 298, AJ Voisine 290 in Patriots league
Picking up a couple of “stray” scores from the Patriots league last week, both in the 11-in-a-row category: Rick Fallon’s 298 game, and AJ Voisine, with a 290. Nice bowling, guys! 🙂
Brian Egan posts 801 in Pepsi league
800 is typically a major feat in the Pepsi league, and Brian Egan reached that number last night, going 279-245-277 for an 801 set. Brian had feared not hitting the new pattern, Broadway, but did just fine. Congrats Brian! 🙂
Stan Jenkins shoots 300 in Rhythm & Bowling
From the celebration, I thought it was his first one: Stan Jenkins had a 300 game tonight in the Rhythm & Bowling league. Congrats! 🙂
Eric Diangelis shoots 299 in Rhythm & Bowling
This score is backlogged from Jan. 7, but congrats to Eric Diangelis for a 299 in the Boston Rhythm & Bowling league. 🙂
