“TomTom” Hedding had a big night tonight, posting a 300-280-257 effort for an 837 series. The night is potentially historic: It now puts his average at 239.82, over Nate Abdow’s association record 238, set at AMF Taunton Lanes in the 2009-10 season, with three weeks remaining. WTG! 🙂

Harry Thibeault shoots 299 in Patriots league
Per the updated standings, newly-elected association Hall of Famer Harry Thibeault had a 299 game last week in the Patriots league. Nice job! 🙂
Felix Chan shoots 297 in Coke league
The only notable score from last night in the Coke league was a 297 by Felix Chan, who I recently posted about for a 300 game in the Bay State Open. Nice going! 🙂
James Lawson shoots 298 in Rhythm & Bowling
And I did catch a score tonight in the Rhythm & Bowling league, that being James Lawson’s 298. WTG! 🙂
Paris Cook bowls 290/805 in TNBA pre-bowl
This won’t be mentioned on the association’s Facebook page because it was in a pre-bowl, but Paris Cook posted that he bowled 236-290-279 for an 805 for the TNBA league this past week. Nice going! 🙂
Jim Ferguson fires 298 in Patriots league
Along with Nick Grossi’s 300 game Thursday night, Jim Ferguson let me know he had a 298 game himself in the Patriots league. Nice bowling! 🙂
Sean Richard fires 299 at Wonder Bowl
You almost expect Sean Richard to get his 300 game when he has a chance, but he showed me a near-miss of his tonight in the Twilight league at Wonder Bowl in New Bedford on Facebook. Good bowling, anyway. 🙂
Kris Higgins bowls 290 in TNBA league
It’s been a relatively quiet season in the TNBA league, but even that league’s had a few scores, and Kris Higgins posted a good number last week in it with a 290 game. WTG! 🙂
Nick Grossi shoots 300 in Patriots league
Per Sean Richard’s post on Facebook, Nick Grossi, who entered this season never having bowled a 300 game, had his second one last night in the Patriots league. Nice bowling! 🙂
Gino Beniamino shoots 300/805 in Coke league
It’s likely Gino Beniamino will remember this Coke league season, as he not only had his first 300 earlier in it, but now his first 800, as he had 279-300-226 for an 805 last night. This is the first 800 in the league since Rich Fulton’s 800 over three years ago (March 2014), and it was my thought that he’s the first with two 300 games in the league in the same season since Matt Yandek had two in the same night in his 801 series.
Because it’s probably better quality than the first one, I’ll share Tom Hedding’s video of Gino’s 300 game last night below:
Good bowling Gino! 🙂
Craig McPherson bowls 290 game in Sunday Niters
As seen on the updated LeagueSecretary.com standings: Just a week after Ken Norris’s 300 game, his teammate in the Sunday Niters league, Craig McPherson, posted a 290 game of his own last night. WTG! 🙂
Bill Clukay fires 300 in TNBA junior regional
Westgate Lanes played host to the TNBA’s East regional junior tournament this weekend, and while I might miss other scores, I can report that Bill Clukay had a 300 game in the tournament yesterday. Results will be linked as soon as I see them.
Nice bowling! 🙂
Dave Kullas posts 300 game in Hyannis
Most of my readers know my policy on noting the accomplishments of Westgate bowlers away from Westgate, and last night provided one of those cases, as Coke league bowler Dave Kullas had a 300 game in the Dave Smith Memorial league at Ryan Family Amusements in Hyannis. Nice job! 🙂
Mike Peirce throws 300 in Patriots league; Peirce & Robinson shoot 558
Mike Peirce’s first two 300 games both came in NAT tournaments, and, last night, he broke his 300 ice in leagues with one in the Patriots league. His partner, association Hall of Famer Dan Robinson, also bowled 258 in that game (third game), so the 558 doubles game is over the USBC reporting threshold. Good job! 🙂
Gary Weiner posts 299 in Westgate Mixed
Gary Weiner didn’t quite collect his third 300, but did post a 299 tonight for his second 11 in a row game of the season. Good bowling! 🙂
Tom Hedding throws 299 in Patriots league
A late score from last Thursday night with the updated Patriots league standings now available: “TomTom” Hedding also had a 299 game. Good work! 🙂
Kevin Thibeault bowls 300, Rob Young 276 in Coke league
There were a couple of games of note last night in the Coke league, one of them by Kevin Thibeault with a 300 in the third game. I have the video below:
The other was an unusual 11 in a row 276 game bowled by association Hall of Famer Rob Young, in which he left the Greek Church (4-6-7-9-10) in the first frame, picked only a pin out of it, and then had the last 11. Rob actually had 21 in a row, as he followed the 276 up with a 289, but the 800 bid fell short in the last frame of the night. Note: 21 in a row without a 300 game is hard to do.
Good bowling guys! 🙂
Ken Norris shoots 300 in Sunday Niters
I said more was coming about tonight, and here it is: Ken Norris had a 300 tonight, his second in the league in as many years, and I have the video of the last strike below:
Congrats again, Kenny! 🙂
Felix Chan bowls first 300 in Bay State Open at Wonder Bowl
Congratulations to Coke league bowler Felix Chan, who picked the Bay State Open today at Wonder Bowl to throw his first 300 game. The BSO’s video of it is below:
This won’t be the last I post about the tournament, as well; just need to get the final details.
Ray Fischer bowls 805 in Patriots league; Fischer & Richard post 558 game
I saw on Sean Richard’s Facebook tonight that Ray Fischer had games of 279, 247, and 279 for an 805 series, but it was also the third game that caught my eye, as Sean had a 279 himself for a 558 doubles game, which is over the USBC reporting threshold (550). WTG, both of you! 🙂
Tom Hedding fires 804 in AXS event at OML
I shared the video of his final match on Facebook (where he finished 2nd), but “TomTom” Hedding told me last night that he did have 259-279-266 for an 804 set in qualifying for the AXS event the other weekend at Old Mountain Lanes in Wakefield, RI. Nice bowling! 🙂
Mar. 28 Patriots team score note
Mark Zimmerman and Brian Egan are Patriots league teammates, and, with Brian’s 778 last week combined with Mark’s 802, the duo posted a 1,580 series, which is over the USBC’s reporting threshold for men-only doubles. Good work, guys! 🙂
Kyle Egan wins JBSC at Westgate
A post in the Junior Bowling Sport Challenge Facebook group reported that Westgate youth bowler Kyle Egan was the U20 boys winner in their event yesterday at Westgate Lanes, defeating fellow Westgate youth bowler Stephen Major, 211-165, in the final match. I did get the scores for the stepladders in the four divisions, and the results are below:
U20 Boys
Match 1: Ryan Stolakis def. Andrew McGovern 201-192
Match 2: Stolakis def. Ryan Stanard 204-164
Match 3: Kyle Egan def. Stolakis 182-158
Semifinal: Egan def. Andrew Hall 255-234
Final: Egan def. Stephen Major 211-165
U20/U15 Girls
Match 1: Kaitlynn Crawford def. Madison Gentes 193-170
Match 2: Crawford def. Danielle McKerracher 224-202
Semifinal: Crawford def. Rachel Bamford 199-169
Final: Kasey Kosier def. Crawford 204-203
U15 Boys
Match 1: Xavier Bamford def. Randal Dunbar 203-175
Match 2: Bamford def. Jason Simmons 243-224
Semifinal: Bamford def. Nate Purches 189-162
Final: Bamford def. Bradley Baybutt 204-176
U12 Boys/Girls
Semifinal: Jaden Gagner def. Dennis Goulart 162-158
Final: Andrew Robitaille def. Gagner 149-130
Additionally, Bradley Baybutt, a bowler out of Yankee Lanes in Keene, NH, bowled a 290 game in qualifying, which Sharon Evans reported was the highest game bowled in the JBSC since the tournament went to all sport oil conditions five years ago. The JBSC reported that 54 bowlers, a record for them, came out for the event, including a record eight in the U12 division.
Congrats to all. I’ll update the post when I find out what the lane condition was.
Update: Sharon Evans conducted some research on past game scores in the JBSC and found that Andrew Hall had a 299 on a sport lane condition their first year. Also that year, Allen Halacy had a 300 game, but that was on a modified house shot (as not every lane machine could put out a sport condition at the time).
Update: Per Kevin Thibeault, the lane condition was the 2007 Weber Cup Day 2 pattern (40′).
Mark Zimmerman shoots 802 in Patriots league
And another score from this past Thursday night in the Patriots league: Mark Zimmerman posted 279-255-268 for an 802 set. WTG! 🙂
Thomas Roberson bowls 300 in Rhythm & Bowling
Congrats to Thomas Roberson, with a 300 game tonight in the Boston Rhythm & Bowling league. It was the second one in the league this season (Paris Cook had the other).
Tasheka Douglas bowls 711 in Rhythm & Bowling
This is really backlogged, but on Feb. 5 (Super Bowl Sunday), Tasheka Douglas posted games of 256, 186, and 269 for a 711 series in the Boston Rhythm & Bowling league. WTG Tasheka! 🙂
Note: Because the date in question was Super Bowl Sunday, my own Sunday league didn’t bowl that week.
Nick Grossi bowls first 800 series in Patriots league
Congrats to Nick Grossi, who bowled his first 800 series tonight, with games of 238, 286, and 289 for an 813, in the Patriots league. 🙂
Greg Andrews shoots 300 in Westgate Mixed
Greg Andrews is getting comfortable in his second full season at Westgate, as, tonight, I’m mentioning him for the fourth time in the season and third in connection to the Westgate Mixed league, as he put up three bills in the second game. Good bowling! 🙂
Update: Thanks to Kimmy Paige, we have a video of Greg’s last strike, which she uploaded to Facebook and I share here:
Brian Egan, Keith Tantillo perfect in Coke league
The last quarter of the Coke league season started out pretty much the way the third one did, with a couple of 300 games, one in the first game by Brian Egan, and the other in the third game by Keith Tantillo. I tried to get the video of Keith’s game, but forgot to switch my camera back to video mode and took a still photo instead.
Nice bowling guys! 🙂
Update: Thanks to Rich Fulton, I do have a video of Keith’s 300, which is shared below:
Sean Richard throws 832 in Southeastern Mass. association tournament
We all know “$eany Ka$h” will bowl in other associations’ tournaments, and he had a notable score in the Southeastern Mass. association tournament Sunday at Holiday Lanes in Westport, posting 278-275-278 for an 832 in his singles event. I just hope that score holds up, as there’s one more weekend left. 🙂
