Congrats to Tina Gannon, who threw an 11 in a row game of 290 last night in the Coke Classic League, making it the best game thrown at Westgate Lanes to date by a woman this season. 😀
The Coke league is currently bowling on the Kegel “Boardwalk” pattern.
In what has become a seasonal event, Alex Aguiar posted a 300 game last Tuesday in the Sportsmen league on the last night the league bowled on the “Beaten Path” pattern. Congrats Alex! 😀
Congrats to John Hayes Jr., who had an 11 in a row 290 game last Friday night in the BBIS league. 😀
Congratulations to Greg Rand on his second honor score of the season, a 290 game last Thursday in the Patriots league. The multiple honor scores qualifies him for the Brockton Bowling Association’s Bowler of the Year tournament in 2012.
Last week was a high scoring week in the Tuesday scratch league, as Donie Corneau posted a 300 game and Ralph Dahlgren an 11 in a row game of 296. Congrats to both bowlers; I’ll find out what shot the league is currently on this week.
The People’s Tournament reported that Rich LeCain (Westgate Lanes, 205 avg.) was the winner of the event held last weekend at Westgate Lanes. Rich defeated Zach Leverant (Westgate Lanes, 170 avg.) by a score (with handicaps) of 227-189 in the title match. Also representing Westgate Lanes, Paris Cook (198 avg.) was also in the semifinals.
As a side note that I neglected to mention previously, Danny Khuu won the tournament director’s strike jackpot by posting a 299 game during Saturday’s qualifying. Congrats to Danny on the honor score (though he can’t get an award for it).
As I usually do, I was watching the second squad of the NEBA tournament today, and was present at lanes 31 & 32 when Dave Kipperman completed a 300 game. Congrats to Dave, and I’ll have a recap when NEBA posts the results on their website.
Congrats to Kevin Thibeault, who threw his first ever 300 game today in the youth travel league at AMF Holiday Lanes in Somerset. 😀
Congrats again to John Kunan, who threw a very quiet 297 game Wednesday night in the Westgate Mixed League (I didn’t know about it until I saw the updated standings sheet, and I was in the building that night.). The second honor score of the season qualifies him for the Bowler of the Year tournament next year. 😀
Consider this another honor score that slipped through the cracks: Chris Major threw a recent 277 game in the Boston Rhythm & Bowling league (remember, I count any game of 270+ thrown by a woman as an honor score). Congratulations! 😀
Congratulations to Dave Chalifoux on a 300 game tonight (technically yesterday, as I’m posting after midnight) in the Coke Classic League. 😀
I check the Boston Rhythm & Bowling league standings infrequently, admittedly, and, because of that and the fact that weekly high scores aren’t listed on their standings sheet online, I don’t have an exact date for this one: Congrats to Greg Rand on a recent 300 game in that league. 😀
He seems to have at least one every season, and he made sure this season wasn’t any different tonight, so congrats to John Kunan on a 300 game tonight in the Westgate Mixed League. 😀
I think I overlooked this last week when I checked the Coke Classic standings, but Tina Gannon recently had a 279 game in the Coke Classic League. Congrats! 😀

Congratulations to Kevin Thibeault, who had games of 268, 268, and 277 for an 813 series, his first (of, we hope, many) 800 series, in the Senior division of the Saturday youth league. 😀
Congrats to Rai Doblmeier, who threw a 295 first game Tuesday night in the Sportsmen league, which is good for an 11 in a row honor. The league is currently bowling on the “Dead Man’s Curve” pattern. 😀
I mentioned Sean Richard winning the non-qualifier high game prize in the August 2011 NEBA event at AMF Silver Lanes, but I just saw the newsletter for this event, and noted that the game Sean won the prize for was, in fact, a 300 game, so belated congrats to “Seany Kash” on the tournament honor score. 😀

Congrats to Carl Nordstrom on having the first 800 series of the season at Westgate Lanes, as he went 289-258-289 for an 836 set tonight in the Thursday Handicap Doubles League. Good job, Carl! 😀
The big scores Thursday night were not limited to the Patriots league, as the Thursday Handicap Doubles league had a couple worth mentioning…
First, Shirley Major posted the first 700 series by a woman at Westgate Lanes this season by throwing a 266 high game in a 712 series. Also, Paul M. Chase joined the fun by tossing an 11 in a row 290 game. Paul finished with a 769 set.

Congratulations to Mike Trent, who, after throwing 300 games many times in practice, finally had his first league 300 game Thursday night in the Patriots league. 😀
Congrats again to Gino Beniamino, who had his second 11 in a row game of the Coke Classic League season last night, this time a 295 (I’m going to assume he left the “Greek Church” on the 12th ball). 😀
The other Wednesday night league, the bigger Westgate Mixed League, is usually good for several honor scores a season, but they had none this season until Wednesday night, when Harry Thibeault (I’m assuming) ran the last 11 strikes in a row for a 290 game, which was part of a 754 series. Congrats Harry! 😀
Congrats to Jim Donaher on throwing a perfect 300 game Tuesday night in the Brockton Ten Pin Invitational league. When I was told about the game, Marcia wanted me to also note that this is Jim’s first perfect game in over 50 years as a league bowler at Westgate Lanes.
I’ll note the series when I see it in the updated league standings. Congrats again Jim! 😀

Congrats to Sean Richard, who threw the first 300 game of the season on Tuesday night in the His & Hers league. As I can also confirm, it is also the first 300 game in the association for the season. I think Sean told me his series was a 758, but don’t hold me to that.

Congratulations to Gino Beniamino on an 11 in a row 298 game on Monday night in the Coke Classic League. This may have been the first honor score of the new season not only at Westgate Lanes, but in the entire Brockton Bowling Association…I’ll have to wait until I see standings from North Bowl to know for sure and note it on the association’s Facebook page.
I’m not sure when two of these were, but there were three honor scores this summer season in the Monday doubles league that I’ve only become aware of last night (Wed. night). In the last month, Keith Tantillo had a 300 game, and Brian “Hawk” Earle had an 11 in a row 299 game. I can, however, pin down an exact date for an additional honor score for “Hawk”: he had a 300 game of his own in the league this Monday night.
