Congratulations to Harry Thibeault, who posted a perfect 300 game Thursday night in the Adult/Junior league on the way to a fine 762 series. 😀

Dan Esdale posts 809 set in Wednesday Summer Mixed
One other item from the week’s standings update, but this one deserves its own post: Dan Esdale had a 279 high game in an 809 series this past week…congrats Dan! 😀
Sean Richard throws 300 game, 823 set in Wed. Summer Mixed
Congrats to Sean Richard, who went 300-266-257 for an 823 series last night. Sean told me after he bowled that he thought he could’ve threatened the house record (856 by Bryan Cahill; as noted in a previous post, he tied the record unofficially during the winter season)…good luck in the future. 😀
Tom Hedding throws 11 in a row game in 806 set in Adult/Junior
I knew I was behind on news from the other summer leagues, so here goes…
Congrats to Tom Hedding, who went 269-259-278 to post an 806 series in the Adult/Junior league on May 26. TomTom informed me that the 278 was, in fact, an 11 in a row game, as he followed a first-frame 7-10 split with 11 straight strikes.
Congrats again! 🙂
Sandi Litchfield posts 705 set in Adult/Junior league
I don’t have information available for the first two weeks of the Thursday night Adult/Junior league, but congrats to Sandi Litchfield on a 705 series this past Thursday night in that league. Sandi had a high game of 255 in the set. 😀
Carl Nordstrom, Harry Thibeault, Tim Major throw 299 games in Westgate Mixed
Congrats to Carl Nordstrom and Harry Thibeault, who each had a 299 game tonight in the Westgate Mixed League. Carl’s came in the first game, while Harry’s happened in the second game. If there are any other honor scores from tonight in that league, I’ll post an update when I see their updated standings.
EDIT: I found out from Adam Johndrow on Facebook, and confirmed through a league source, that Tim Major also had a 299 game in the second game of the night in the league, so congrats to Tim, as well. 😀
Chuck Gerlach throws 11 in a row 299 in Patriots league
Congrats to Chuck Gerlach, who ended the Thursday Night Patriots season in fine style last week with an 11 in a row 299 game. 😀

Tony Bennett throws 300 game at USBC Open Championships
The USBC reported that Tony Bennett of Worcester, MA, who is a bowler in the Tuesday Scratch Sportsmen league, bowled a perfect 300 game today in his doubles event at the USBC Open Championships, currently running at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno. Congrats Tony! 😀
Shirley Major continues hot streak in Thursday Handicap Double
Congrats again to Shirley Major, who had a high game of 269 in posting a 707 set last Thursday night in the doubles league. 😀
Sean Richard breaks six-year-old Westgate Lanes average record
I’ve been pretty much sitting on this for a couple of weeks, and had been waiting until the final standings for the league were posted, but I’ve been told that that may not happen, so I’m running with this now…
Congratulations to Sean Richard, who has posted a 235.1 average for the 2010-11 season in the Brockton Ten Pin Men’s Invitational League. This breaks a six-year-old house record, which was 232 by Bill Major (which league is unknown to me, as the old record was set before my return to the game). Sean had a high game of 289 and a high series of 788 in the league this season.
If the final standings are posted online, I will add it to this post as a comment. Also, as it is a house record, I felt this post worthy enough to categorize as an honor score post.
Congrats again, Sean! 😀
Jessica Lowe posts 289 game, 717 series in TNBA League
Congrats to Jessica Lowe, who had a 289 game in posting a 717 series Friday night in the TNBA league. 😀
Tom Hedding throws 11 in a row 290 in Thursday Handicap Doubles
Congrats to “Tom Tom” Hedding, who had an 11 in a row 290 game the other night in the doubles league on the way to posting a 763 series. 😀
Brad Silva, James Scales perfect in Tuesday league action
This past Tuesday night saw 300 games in separate leagues at Westgate Lanes. Brad Silva had one on the way to posting a 711 series in the Brockton Ten Pin league, while James Scales threw one of his own on the way to a 728 series in the His & Hers league.
Congrats to both bowlers! 😀
John Kunan rolls 300 game in Westgate Mixed
Congratulations also tonight to John Kunan, who had a 300 game to start the night in the Westgate Mixed League. The effort keyed a 769 series for Kunan. 😀
Ed Godino III throws 11 in a row 298 game in Brunswick Mixed League
I saw my 288 fall as the high game in my league tonight, as Ed Godino III started his night with an 11 in a row 298 game, with his bid for a perfect 300 spoiled by a “fast eight” (the 4-7). It was the first honor score in the league in my time in it. My hope for getting the high game prize now rests mostly on Ed winning the average prize; going into tonight, Shawn had a slim lead on Ed for average, but the first game alone improved Ed’s average by better than a pin, and it looked like 700 would be in the bag after his second game. Shawn, for his part, told me he didn’t have a great night.
Congrats again, Ed! 😀
Andrew Anderson shoots 299 in Westgate Lanes youth league action
Congrats to Andrew Anderson, who was just a pin away from a perfect game Saturday morning in the Senior division of the youth league. 😀
Shirley Major keeps rolling in Thursday doubles
Congrats again to Shirley Major, who had a high game of 278 in posting a 717 series Thursday night in the doubles league. 😀
Melissa Peterson posts 711 series in Westgate Mixed
Congrats to Melissa Peterson, who, with the help of a high 269 game, put up a 711 series Wednesday night in the Westgate Mixed League. 😀
Shirley Major shoots 731 set in Thursday Handicap Doubles
Congrats to Shirley Major, who used a 268 high game to post a 731 series (her second 700 series of the year, I believe) Thursday night in the doubles league. 😀
March 2011 Northeast Junior Scratch Tour at Westgate Lanes
I’m going to list the winners below, followed by a wrap-up of qualifying. As not all of the divisions had stepladder match play, the note next to each winner will include either their six-game qualifying total or the result of the title match if there was match play.
Prep: Nick Flake (1,147)
Junior Boys: Kevin Thibeault (1,257)
Major: Joshua Regnier (def. Shane Holt 237-197)
Girls: Catherine Bell (def. Jadee Scott-Jones 224-212)
Collegiate: Joe Mello (def. Ryan Graywacz 216-215)
In qualifying, Shane Holt had a perfect 300 game, and Jadee Scott-Jones had a high game of 275.
Matt Yandek throws dual perfect games in 801 series in Coke Classic League
Congrats to Matt Yandek, who had 32 of a possible 36 strikes in going 300-201-300 for an 801 series last night in the Coke Classic League. Only three open frames in the second game prevented Yandek from having a real monster set.
Note: This post was delayed because of technical problems with the blog’s host.
Jessica Lowe breaks 700 again in TNBA League
Congrats again to Jessica Lowe, who used a 268 high game to record her second 700 series of the season in the TNBA League on Friday night! 😀
Ray Fischer throws 11 in a row game in His & Hers
Congrats to Ray Fischer on an 11 in a row 290 game on Tuesday night in the His & Hers League! 😀
Tony Bennett nearly perfect in Tuesday Scratch Sportsmen
Congrats to Tony Bennett, who shot a third game of 299 in the Tuesday night singles league. The league might have been on the new USBC Open Championships pattern, but I’ll confirm this through a league source and comment if it’s anything different.
Chuck Gerlach posts 803 series in Thursday Night Patriots
Congrats to Chuck Gerlach, who used a 278 high game to post an 803 set last Thursday night in the Patriots league. It is only the second 800 series recorded at Westgate Lanes this season. Congrats again! 😀
2011 Brockton Bowling Association Championships, Day 2
I was back at the lanes for the team event today, and the lanes continued to be tough, as the high game in the day’s singles and doubles squad was a 279 thrown in singles by Bill Major. The tournament finally yielded an honor score in today’s team squad, however, when Ralph Marple (yes, my former summer league teammate) threw a first-game 300 for what turned out to be the only honor score of the tournament. Congrats, Ralph! 😀
The unofficial results will be linked here when the association has them available on their website.
As an aside, Rai Doblmeier, the association’s reigning Bowler of the Year, used his paid major tournament entry to enter this week’s US Open at Brunswick Zone Carolier in New Brunswick, NJ, so good luck to Rai in that event. 😀
Brian “Hawk” Earle posts 299 game in Westgate Mixed
My friends in the league relayed this to me while I was at the center for the tournament today: Brian “Hawk” Earle bowled a 299 game Wednesday in the Westgate Mixed League. Congrats Hawk! 😀
Melissa Peterson posts 728 set in Westgate Mixed
Congrats to Melissa Peterson, who used a 262 game Wednesday night to record a 728 series in the Westgate Mixed League. 😀
Video: Ed Greene’s 300 game
Thanks to Sandi Litchfield (who posted this on Facebook), for the first time on this blog, you will see a big local bowling moment: the final strike of Ed Greene’s 300 game last night. Greg Banks, a teammate of Ed’s, captured the moment for YouTube:
I believe the first coming up to Ed to congratulate him is Bob Young, our esteemed Brockton Bowling Association manager.
