Apr. 9 league night recap

My Week 29 bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

The lanes seemed tough tonight, so I was fairly happy with my 495, because I thought my look was a bit better than a couple of my higher-average opponents (who I realized I forgot to note when I posted the standings update today: “Anger Management”).

Result: 183-151-161=495
Average (87 games): 175
Average for last 9 games: 166
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 604

As I alluded to, two of my opponents were well under average, and the result for us was three points.

Apr. 9 league standings update

After winning a point from “The Dynasty Is Back”, “Snakes On A Lane” stand in a tie for 13th with “3’s Company”, nine points off of a tie for the lead by “Bowling Stones” and “Mustangs”. Team 16 is only a point back in third; should they also win the second half, there would be no roll-off.

Apr. 2 league night recap

My Week 28 bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

The second game was quite embarrassing, as my Fast wanted to go to the right off of my hand and I ended up double-guttering in the 6th frame. I eventually ended up throwing my Hy-Road on the right lane and salvaged an over-average game in the third game. Both doubles came in the 10th finishing on the left lane (not the right, where I double-guttered).

Result: 168-115-179=462
Average (84 games): 175
Average for last 9 games: 168
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 571

My night was so bad Carl was actually high man for us with a 488, but we did win a point third game, as my team needed me to perform in the 10th.

Winter 2014 Week 12 virtual league results

“Tripped 4s” only did slightly better against “6-Pack Abs” than the first time we opposed that team, winning two points. We are now tied for 6th with “Live2Bowl”, four points ahead of Team 3 and 25 points behind the aforementioned “6-Pack Abs”; that team leads “The Ocho” by 14 points with three weeks left, so “6-Pack Abs” could conceivably clinch the championship this week.

Mar. 26 league night recap

My Week 27 bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

I was over average on the night, but all of my score was in the first game, mainly because I had trouble getting the ball to come back to the pocket later, even after a ball change. It was a tough night on my single 10 (missed both of them), but made all of my other single pins and had a better night with more than one pin on the deck.

Result: 212-164-165=541
Average (81 games): 176
Average for last 9 games: 178
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 589

Team won all four, with Pat better than 40 over average thanks to a 169 second game.

No refund last week, but I beat Liz DiBenedetto in one bracket for the break-even $5.

Winter 2014 Week 11 virtual league results

“Tripped 4s” stopped a slide by winning five of seven points from “The Ocho”, but still stand tied for 5th with “Fab 5” and “Live2Bowl”, 22 points behind “6-Pack Abs”, who increased their lead over “The Ocho” to nine points.

Individually, “Mikestormbowler91”, a member of “Live2Bowl”, submitted a milestone series, his first 700 series with a 702.

Mar. 19 league night recap

My Week 26 bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

The left lane proved tough tonight, as my only double came in the 10th frame second game finishing on the right lane. I do feel I’m starting to manage my bad nights better, because tonight could easily have been worse if I didn’t make all of my single pins.

Result: 174-182-159=515
Average (78 games): 176
Average for last 9 games: 181
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 599

Shawn needed a 278 (with ten in a row) to beat my team the first game, but we won the other two games, the second rather comfortably, for three points.

Shawn was also sick last week, so there were no brackets.

Winter 2014 Week 10 virtual league results

“Tripped 4s” again only won two points, this time against “Fab 5”, and are now tied for 6th with “Live2Bowl”, four points in front of 8th place and 20 points behind the leaders, “6-Pack Abs”. The leaders became the first five-man team in this league’s history to break the 3,400 barrier for a series (posting a 3,429), and “The Ocho” also had a top three all-time five-man series last week. “6-Pack Abs” have a four point lead on “The Ocho”.

Mar. 12 league night recap

My Week 25 bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

I threw too many bad first shots, particularly in the first game, but my other two games were enough to get me over my +1. My spare game was strong tonight, as well (80% on makeables, with one split conversion on top of it).

Result: 167-200-186=553
Average (75 games): 176
Average for last 9 games: 178
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 583

We split the first two games, with my team having the advantage for total, but two of our opponents, none of whom carried a 150+ average, threw games in the 220s (one as a pre-bowl) in the third game, and that was just too much for us to overcome.

Last week, I won two brackets, against Shawn and Jim Andersen; with a dollar refunded, it was $6 profit on the night.

Mar. 11 league standings update

After failing to win points from “Spear Me” (One of the members of that team told me the spelling variation was intentional.), “Snakes On A Lane” now stand in 15th place, nine points behind the pace set by “Sweet Rolls”, who lead “Bowling Stones” by a point and “The Dynasty Is Back” by 2.5 points. “The 9 Guys”, the new team that joined in the second half of the season, is up next for us.

Winter 2014 Week 9 virtual league results

“Tripped 4s” only won two points in the rematch with “Live2Bowl”, and we now stand tied with them for 5th, 17 points behind “6-Pack Abs”, who, after leading by 14 points at one time, now lead “The Ocho” and Team 1 by six points. “Good Luck Bad Luck”, who had the third highest five-man series in league history, improved on that by posting a 3,363 total (which is still third all-time).

Mar. 5 league night recap

My Week 24 bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

I had a pretty decent night tonight, with the second game only single digits under my average. I probably could have had two deuce games in this set, but a ringer robbed me filling the last frame.

Result: 202-170-192=564
Average (72 games): 175
Average for last 9 games: 181
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 530

Most of our opponents were around their average most of the night, but the third bowler in their order (the anchor was absent) nearly put up a 700, and we lost all four points.

Shawn again only ran four brackets last week, and I came in second to Jim Andersen in one of them to get half of my money back.

Mar. 5 league standings update

After winning all four points from “We Split 4 No 1”, “Snakes On A Lane” stand tied for 10th with “Nuckin Futs” and “The Doables”, seven points behind the pace set by “Bowling Stones”; that team leads “Sweet Rolls” by a point.

Individually, Berta had the women’s high series with handicap in the league last week. Shawn hadn’t posted on LeagueSecretary.com at press time, so no other high score information is available.

Rich Fulton rolls 800 set in Coke league

Congrats to Rich Fulton with games of 287, 257, and 256 for an even 800 series tonight in the Coke league. It was the first 800 series in the league since Matt Yandek’s 801 on Mar. 21, 2011. I got video of the last two shots (Rich had the first strike in the last frame as I started the camera.), and it’s below, but those friends of Sean Richard (one of Rich’s teammates in the league) on Facebook can see a better quality video on his timeline.

Congrats again, Richie! 😀

Winter 2014 Week 8 virtual league results

“Tripped 4s” won only two points from Team 3 in the rematch, but “6-Pack Abs” also only won two points, so we lost no ground to the leaders last week. “6-Pack Abs” did see their lead shrink to nine points over “The Ocho”.

Individually, “Joe Bowler”, a member of the team currently leading, posted a 300 game this week. That was one of the first honor scores I got to mention on the site’s new Facebook page in the week of its launch.
