Danny Khuu, Aaron Major lead high scoring Day 2 of BPUSBC Championships

Scoring was more evident today on Day 2 of city tournament, particularly on the first squad (mostly doubles), which found Danny Khuu going 250-278-280 for an 808, and Aaron Major posting 279-245-279 for an 803.

The squad also featured no less than three 300 games, bowled by Jon Hester, Jim Ferguson, and, last but not least, the first 300 game for Shane Litchfield (now an adult bowler). I have videos available, starting with Zach Thompson’s of Hester:

The others are courtesy of Sandi Litchfield, first of recent NEBA champion Jim Ferguson:

And sharing the proud mom’s video of son Shane:

Congrats to all! 🙂

Jim Ferguson wins 123Bowl.com Open for 2nd NEBA title

As posted above by NEBA, Westgate’s Jim Ferguson won his 2nd title by defeating Gary Haines 60-49 in a 9th & 10th frame roll-off to capture the 123Bowl.com Open yesterday at East Providence Lanes.

In the final match, Jim was in some trouble after missing a 10 pin, followed in the next frame by a split, but momentum swung back his way after Haines left a 6-8-10 (lefty), and the door was left open for Jim to tie the match after a screaming messenger by Haines missed the 7, after which Jim punched out in the 10th to force the roll-off. Counting the roll-off, Jim threw the last nine strikes of the match.

Plenty of video here, starting with the final match:

Jim’s winner’s interview:

As a bonus, I’ll include the semifinals, as Jim had to defeat best friend and doubles partner Sean Richard:

Congrats again Jimmy! 🙂
