Stephen & Aaron Major win Turkey Doubles in Ft. Edward, NY

Per the post above by the bowling center, cousins Stephen & Aaron Major, the 2016 USBC Youth Open doubles champions, won their first adult doubles tournament by taking the inaugural Turkey Doubles last night at Broadway Bowl in Ft. Edward, NY. The Majors defeated Steve Wagoner & Craig Taylor 247-237 in the Baker-format final match, in which Stephen delivered the clinching double in the 10th frame.

Congratulations guys! 🙂

Jayme Silva tosses 300 in Patriots league

Last night, Jayme Silva Sr., a veteran SEMASS bowler, recorded his first 300 game in a Westgate league, the Patriots league (not surprisingly). Jennifer Mydlack sent me the video below of the last shots:

Congrats Jayme!

As an aside, Alex Major proposed to his girlfriend and teammate, Samantha Gustin, as she was finishing up for the night (her team had her bowl anchor last night to set it up). It was the first time, including my former bowling stint, that I’d been witness to a marriage proposal at Westgate. Congrats to the couple.

Sean Richard wins record 6th Bay State Open title

As announced in the above post, Sean Richard won a record 6th Bay State Open title Saturday in the “Throw the Low” (bowl four games, drop low score of the four) event at Walnut Hill Bowl in Woonsocket, RI, winning the final match 261-202 (with handicap) over Bill Josephson. Sean posted on Facebook that he was actually an alternate for match play, and got in when bowlers left thinking they’d missed the cut. It just goes to show you that it pays to stick around a tournament until cuts are announced.

I’d shared the video of the final match on Facebook, but I’ll include it below.

WTG Ka$h! 🙂

Aaron Major slams 813 in Raynham

Aaron Major messaged me last night that he had put up 256-279-278 for an 813 in the Thursday Night Mixed league at Ryan’s Amusements in Raynham, which should be his first score in a center away from Westgate that is still in the Bristol-Plymouth association. I was also able to confirm it on LeagueSecretary.com. Congrats! 🙂

Note: Aaron bowls with Barry & Donald Wood, two of my former Brunswick Mixed teammates.
