My Week 11 bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

I think I needed this night as much for my ego as anything else after my 112 game last week. I did use what I learned about the lanes that night and stayed with my Fast throughout, with my second game (my second 250 game of the summer) being the highlight game of the night.

Liz was the real star of the night for us, as she was threatening a 30-clean night until the 29th frame, when she left a 4-7-10 split (and came fairly close to converting it); team took all eight.

After failing to win points from Team 20, “X Factors”, of course, remained in last place, but the deficit to the rest of the league did not change, as we now trail Team 11 by three points. We are 21 points off the lead, held by “Paul’s Carpet” by two points over “4 Horsemen” and “Wyld Stallyns” and four over “Rose and Thorns”. “X Factors” bowl against “Lucky Strikes” tomorrow night.

I maybe have a bit of a stubborn streak and, while I’m good at moving when I’m supposed to, I tend to be more stubborn with my ball selection. Tonight, I likely could have avoided a 112 first game, my worst league game in a long time, by balling up to my Fast sooner, though I likely should have actually started with it tonight, as the other two games were more like me.

Team lost all eight yet again, to a low average team this time. The last game was on me, because I could have won the game if I had the second strike in the 10th, but I let my arm swing get away and left another washout (I think I had a couple of those early on).

After failing to win points from “4 Horsemen”, “X Factors” fell into last place, three points behind “Fancy Sauce” and 27 points behind the leaders, “Wyld Stallyns”, who are four points ahead of “Paul’s Carpet” and “Rose and Thorns”. We cross lanes with Team 20 tomorrow night.

It was another of “those nights,” as my shoulder turn may have been worse, causing me to miss as bad as you’ll ever see me miss. On the bright side, I did correct it in time to have a clean 192, and I only missed two of 11 single pins (both 10s).

It’s tough to win when not one, but two, opponents shoot 700 at you even with negative handicap, and the only game that was even moderately close was the third.

After failing to win points from “Pinheads”, “X Factors” slipped to 19th place (out of 20), five points ahead of “High Rollers”. We are 19 points behind “Wyld Stallyns”, who are two points ahead of “Paul’s Carpet”, “Pinheads”, “IWorkout”, and “Rose and Thorns”. “4 Horsemen” provides the week’s opposition.

My Week 8 bowling, frame-by-frame

My problem with the “flying shoulder” cropped up again in the first game, but I was eventually able to get my shoulder under control and bowled one pin over my average.

We were giving 163 pins per game to our opponents, and they caught enough of a fire that, while we beat them scratch every game, it was just not by enough to overcome the handicap difference. The net result was that we lost all eight.
