I didn’t realize it when he bowled it, but Roland Sandefur last night had an 11 in a row 290 game in the Coke league. Also, Tina Gannon just keeps it going, putting up a 279 high game in her 720 series. Nice bowling, guys! π

There haven’t been many high scores in the youth leagues this season (just a 299 game by Aaron Major, in fact), but there was one today in the (surprise) Junior division in the form of Christopher Zalewski’s 290. WTG! π
Ed Godino III bowls perfecto in TNBA league
Congrats to Ed Godino III, a member of my Wednesday night league, for a 300 game last night in his other league, the TNBA league. WTG! π
Jim Ferguson & Mark Zimmerman win NAT doubles at Westgate

The Northeast Amateur Tournament reported onΒ their Facebook pageΒ that Mark Zimmerman & Jim Ferguson, the latter of whom is a Brockton Bowling Association Hall of Famer, were the winners of the doubles event held on Jan. 10 at Westgate Lanes after defeating AJ Voisine & Danny Khuu, 1039-1010 (with handicap), in the two-game final match (the final match score was reported in the newsletter on their website, which was unavailable at press time). Other Westgate Lanes cashers were Chuck Paige II & Matt Richard, Mike Major & Sean Richard, Mike Peirce & Dan Robinson, Tim Major & Paris Cook, Tina Gannon & Bill Briggs, and Kevin Thibeault (with James Jordan).
During qualifying, Shawn Hartigan threw a 300 game, his second at Westgate in as many calendar years (having also thrown one during the state tournament last spring), and Jim Ferguson, during the head-to-head finals had the last 11 strikes for a 279 game after opening the game with a split.

Sammy Wong throws 299 in Brunswick Mixed
The scoring was not limited to Sean Richard tonight, or even limited to the Westgate Mixed league, as Sammy Wong in Brunswick Mixed had a 299 game. This was the fourth game of 290 or better in my league this season. WTG! π
Sean Richard bowls 290/823 in Westgate Mixed
Newly-elected Brockton Bowling Association Hall of Famer Sean Richard showed no sign of resting on his laurels tonight, with games of 265, 268, and 290 for an 823 series in the Westgate Mixed league, improving on the high series of the season at Westgate Lanes, which he also held. WTG Seany! π
Mike Major throws 298 game in Coke league
While there hasn’t been a 300 game yet in the Coke league this season, a few bowlers have come close, and, tonight, Mike Major added his name to that list with a 298 game. WTG! π
Tina Gannon throws 280/750 in Coke league
Improving on her highs for the year in the Coke league, Tina Gannon last night had a 280 high game in a 750 series. WTG! π
Tina Gannon bowls 300 game in Kingston
I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned an honor score bowled in Kingston on this blog, but Tina Gannon, the best woman in the Coke league at Westgate, had a 300 game the other night in her house league, the Wednesday Night Mixed league in Kingston. WTG Tina! π
Brian Egan bowls 805, Alex Major 300 in Patriots
The Patriots league’s return from Christmas break tonight was memorable for Brian Egan, who had games of 279, 257, and 269 for an 805 series, and Alex Major, who had his second 300 game. WTG guys! π
Henry Webber bowls 290 in Rhythm & Bowling
I left tonight with an 800 series possible for Henry Webber in the Rhythm & Bowling league, and he didn’t quite get there, but he did have a 290 first game to help make the 800 possible after two games. WTG Henry! π
Dec. 2015 Westgate Lanes NAT results

The Northeast Amateur Tournament reported onΒ their websiteΒ that Lance Mugford was the winner of the event on Dec. 5 at Westgate Lanes. Lance defeated Mark Juliano, 249-217 (with handicap) in the final match, which was reduced from the normal two games to one game due to time constraints. The Westgate bowlers who cashed were Hy Bao, Jim Ferguson, Sean Richard, John Hayes Jr., Matt Richard, and Stan Lewis.
Also, Mike Macedo had a 299 game during qualifying for this event.

Sean Richard throws 300 in Westgate Mixed
He does it so often that it feels like he’s overdue if I don’t mention him for a couple of months, but “$eany Ka$h” put up another 300 tonight in the Westgate Mixed league. WTG! π
Tina Gannon throws 278 game in Coke league
Tonight, Tina Gannon threw a 278 game in the Coke league, which turned out to be the high game of the night by any bowler of either gender in the league. WTG! π
Backlog: Tina Gannon posts 745 in Coke league
Not sure how this got past me, but back on Sept. 21, Tina Gannon had a 268 high game in a 745 series in the Coke league. Sorry for this not being timely, Tina! π
2014-15 Westgate youth team earns two national honors
I also saw something new on the youth program’s bulletin board, as last year’s youth team of Corey Marvel, Ethan Rosenberg, Matthew Doyle, and Aaron Major earned two National Team Recognition Awards, the first forΒ a 903 team game on Sept. 7, 2014Β and the second forΒ a 2,777 series on Mar. 21, 2015, both of which were the highest reported scores in the nation in their age group. The links above will have the bowl.com leaderboard detailing the individual scores, and it’s interesting to note that Aaron shot a 221 triplicate in that series.

Aaron Major throws 2nd travel league 300 in Westport
The Southeastern Mass. Junior Scratch Travel League made its second of three stops at Holiday Lanes in Westport today, and some things haven’t changed, because Aaron Major had his second perfect game of the travel league season there. The two at Westport, if I haven’t mentioned when I posted the first one already, should be his first two away from Westgate Lanes.

Ed Alfieri bowls 300 in Westgate Mixed
He hasn’t been heard from in some time, but Ed Alfieri, one of Westgate’s resident two-handers, started his night tonight with a 300 game. WTG! π
Westgate Warriors sweep home match; Wayne Toutain shoots 300
The Westgate Warriors rebounded from a couple of bad recent outings in their home match today by sweeping Norrage, 40-0. Zach Thompson, bowling in one of the handicap groups, set the tone for the match with a 289 first game on the way to a 784 scratch set.
About the only thing spoiling the day was Norrage’s Wayne Toutain throwing a 300 game in the second game bowling in the other handicap group, but the Warriors still won the two points out of the game.

AJ Voisine throws 297 in Coke league
Tonight was the final night of the Coke league’s first third, and AJ Voisine put up a 297 game to start the night. WTG π
And, while I’m thinking about it, Rick O’Shea (team name, not a person that I know of), with team members Brian Egan, Nathan Crouse, Brian Gaskill, and Steve Dale Jr., clinched first place for the third with a 1,026 team game, which was just 24 pins under the USBC’s reporting threshold for a game. Good job, guys! π
Shawn Hagan posts 300/801 in Malden
Longtime blog followers will know I try to note when Westgate bowlers do well elsewhere, and, tonight, Coke league bowler Shawn Hagan put up games of 300, 267, and 234 for an 801 in his house shot league, the Trio + One league at Town Line in Malden. WTG! π
Sean Richard posts 300, 299 in Greater Boston city tournament
The Brockton Bowling Association will not have its city tournament until later in the season (it’s soon, though), but “$eany Ka$h” didn’t have to wait to post scores in an association tournament, as he had a 300 game in singles and a 299 game in doubles today in the Greater Boston city tournament at Town Line Luxury Lanes in Malden. Congrats! π

It hasn’t been often that I’ve mentioned the Southeastern Mass. Junior Scratch Travel League, but Aaron Major threw a 300 third game in today’s round at Holiday Lanes in Westport. WTG Aaron! π

Congrats to Danny Khuu for a 300 game tonight in the Patriots league. I’ve reported on a few of his, but now, thanks to Kris Higgins, we have a video of one of Danny’s. π
Rob Young posts 300/803 in Patriots league
Brockton Bowling Association Hall of Famer Rob Young, already with a 300 game in the league this year, tuned up for the Brockton Bowling Association’s Bowler of the Year tournament, which he won in 2003, by posting games of 246, 257, and 300 for an 803 series tonight in the Patriots league. The tournament, which will be held at North Bowl Lanes this year, is just days away.

There have been some good scores being put up by bowlers in my league so far this season, and Bobby Geddes had the latest one tonight, with a bucket stopping him from a perfect game (296). WTG Bobby! π

Westgate Lanes announced a late score from last night on their Facebook page, that being a 296 game by Curtis Jordan in the Boston Rhythm & Bowling league. Congrats Curtis! π
AJ Voisine & Danny Khuu win NAT doubles at Westgate

The Northeast Amateur Tournament reported on their Facebook page that AJ Voisine and Danny Khuu were the winners of the doubles event held today at Westgate Lanes, defeating the father-son team of Bert & Jeff Santos, 1082-996, with handicap, in the two game final match.
Also, Matt Senay, bowling out of Lowell, posted a 300 game during qualifying, with AJ adding a 297 game in the round, and Danny Khuu bowling a 290 game in an earlier round of the head-to-head finals.

Mike Peirce, Kevin Thibeault post 299 games in Patriots league
In a matter of “clean-up” from last week, Mike Peirce and Kevin Thibeault also had 299 games last week in the Patriots league along with Rob Young’s 300. Congrats to both. π
Rob Young throws perfect game in Patriots league
I don’t think I’ve ever reported a 300 game bowled by our association president, Rob Young, but I finally can now, as he had one last Thursday night in the Patriots league. Congrats Rob! π
