2014-15 Westgate youth team earns two national honors

I also saw something new on the youth program’s bulletin board, as last year’s youth team of Corey Marvel, Ethan Rosenberg, Matthew Doyle, and Aaron Major earned two National Team Recognition Awards, the first forΒ a 903 team game on Sept. 7, 2014Β and the second forΒ a 2,777 series on Mar. 21, 2015, both of which were the highest reported scores in the nation in their age group. The links above will have the bowl.com leaderboard detailing the individual scores, and it’s interesting to note that Aaron shot a 221 triplicate in that series.

Congrats all around! πŸ™‚

Aaron Major throws 2nd travel league 300 in Westport

The Southeastern Mass. Junior Scratch Travel League made its second of three stops at Holiday Lanes in Westport today, and some things haven’t changed, because Aaron Major had his second perfect game of the travel league season there. The two at Westport, if I haven’t mentioned when I posted the first one already, should be his first two away from Westgate Lanes.

Congrats Aaron! πŸ™‚

Westgate Warriors sweep home match; Wayne Toutain shoots 300

The Westgate Warriors rebounded from a couple of bad recent outings in their home match today by sweeping Norrage, 40-0. Zach Thompson, bowling in one of the handicap groups, set the tone for the match with a 289 first game on the way to a 784 scratch set.

About the only thing spoiling the day was Norrage’s Wayne Toutain throwing a 300 game in the second game bowling in the other handicap group, but the Warriors still won the two points out of the game.

WTG everyone! πŸ™‚

AJ Voisine throws 297 in Coke league

Tonight was the final night of the Coke league’s first third, and AJ Voisine put up a 297 game to start the night. WTG πŸ™‚

And, while I’m thinking about it, Rick O’Shea (team name, not a person that I know of), with team members Brian Egan, Nathan Crouse, Brian Gaskill, and Steve Dale Jr., clinched first place for the third with a 1,026 team game, which was just 24 pins under the USBC’s reporting threshold for a game. Good job, guys! πŸ™‚

Rob Young posts 300/803 in Patriots league

Brockton Bowling Association Hall of Famer Rob Young, already with a 300 game in the league this year, tuned up for the Brockton Bowling Association’s Bowler of the Year tournament, which he won in 2003, by posting games of 246, 257, and 300 for an 803 series tonight in the Patriots league. The tournament, which will be held at North Bowl Lanes this year, is just days away.

Congrats again Rob! πŸ™‚
