Kevin Stiger’s 300 game of last week in my Wednesday night league was followed up by a couple of close approaches tonight: Paul Dang’s 299 game, and Laura Beaudet putting up a 288 game. Congrats to both! 🙂

Matt Richard throws 290 game in Coke league
Three close calls in as many weeks, as Matt Richard tonight threw the back 11 for another 290 game, making it the second week in a row with a bowler bowling 290 in the Coke league. WTG Matty Ice! 🙂
Kevin Stiger bowls 300 in Brunswick Mixed
There have been seasons in the Brunswick Mixed league since I’ve been in it where we didn’t have an honor score, but Kevin Stiger made sure we had one this year tonight with a perfect game. Good going, “Bud” (what his team changes his name to on the scorer before bowling). 🙂
Kevin Thibeault bowls 1st adult 300 in Patriots league; Zach Thompson shoots 299
Congrats to Kevin Thibeault, who threw his first 300 game as an adult bowler tonight in the Patriots league, and also to Zach Thompson (tournament director for the Bay State Open) for a 299 in the same league. 🙂
Ray Fischer throws 815 series in His & Hers
Congrats to Ray Fischer, who had games of 277, 280, and 258 in the His & Hers league tonight for an 815 series. 🙂
Steve Dale Jr. posts 290 game in Coke league
It was not quite the close call Jon Hester had last week, but Steve Dale Jr. ran the back 11 in the second game in the Coke Classic league tonight for a 290. WTG “Stevie Wheels” 🙂
Sean Richard throws 819 series in TNBA league
Congrats again to “$eany Ka$h”, this time for posting the first 800 series of the season with games of 279, 275, and 265 for an 819 in the TNBA league (which I’ve never recalled him bowling in) tonight. 🙂
Grant Henderson Sr. rolls 299 in Rhythm & Bowling
I saw a first standing sheet from the Boston Rhythm & Bowling league late, but I have noted that Grant Henderson Sr. had a 299 game in that league’s first week…congrats! 🙂
Shirley Major posts 714 in Patriots league
Congrats to Shirley Major, who had a 266 high game in a 714 series last week in the Patriots league, which is the first score of note for the women this season. 🙂
Sean Richard posts 300 game in Westgate Mixed
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Sean Richard in my second bowling life, it’s that you can’t hold him off the perfect game roll in his house shot leagues, and he made sure he had one this season tonight by throwing one in the Westgate Mixed league. Congrats $eany! 🙂
Jon Hester posts 298 game in Coke league
Jon Hester had the first 11 in the second game, but then left a 4-10 split for a 298 game, which is the high game in the league so far on the young season. Congrats Jon! 🙂
Steve Travers, Tim Woodley bowl 300s in Patriots league
Congrats to Brockton Bowling Association Hall of Famer Steve Travers, and also to Tim Woodley, who both had a perfect game Thursday night in the Patriots league. 🙂
Aaron Major throws 299 in Saturday youth league
Aaron Major actually almost had the first 300 this year in the senior youth league on Saturday, as I found out after bowling tonight, but he was one pin short. Good game anyway, Aaron. 🙂
Dan Esdale throws 1st 300 of 2015-16 Westgate season
Congrats to Dan Esdale on a 300 game tonight in the Westgate Mixed league. It is definitely the first at Westgate in the new season, and may be the first in the association, depending on the returns from (particularly) North Bowl. 🙂
Danny Khuu shoots 299 in Westgate Warriors season opening win
The Westgate Warriors opened the new Underground Bowling Association season Saturday at AMF Cranston Lanes. Danny Khuu led the way in a 32-8 rout over Pound For Pound with a 299 game in a 717 series in the scratch match-up.
Sean Richard wins Bay State Open in Woonsocket
The Bay State Open posted about their event yesterday at Walnut Hill Bowl in Woonsocket, RI, where the winner was Sean Richard, defeating Randal Dunbar by a 234-223 score (with handicap) in the final match. The video is below:
Sean Richard also had a 296 game in qualifying, and he and Danny Khuu both had 300 games during the head-to-head finals.
Congrats guys! 🙂
Drew Wilder bowls 300, Shirley Major 279 in Monday doubles
I can’t say I’ve ever heard of Drew Wilder until today, but, last night, he had a 300 game on the last night of the Monday doubles summer league. Shirley Major didn’t stop at her 300 game, either, as she added a 279 game for her season to finish.
Congrats to both. 🙂
Sean Richard posts 298, Danielle Barros 276 in Monday doubles
Checking the BowlerExpress standings (now that Westgate is able to upload again), I saw that “$eany Ka$h” had a 298 game last night in the doubles league, and Dani Barros a 276 game for the women. Good job, you two! 🙂
Kevin Thibeault throws 300 in Friday Junior Doubles
I peeked my head in briefly this morning, and Kevin Thibeault told me he shot a perfecto last night in the youth doubles league. But it was not the only honor-caliber score in this league: Wonder Bowl’s Tyler Perry, already a legend for what he’s accomplished as a youth bowler, made the Friday league (one of) his summer leagues and, although I don’t have an exact date on it, had a 299 game in the league before he went to Junior Gold.
Congrats to both of you. 🙂
Sean Richard, Shirley Major throw 300s in Monday doubles
Congrats to Sean Richard and Shirley Major, both with 300 games tonight in the Monday Summer Doubles league. I can’t say definitively, but I believe this to be the first time a male bowler and a female bowler both had perfect games in the same league on the same night at Westgate Lanes. 🙂
Ron Berkey fires 299 game in Monday doubles
Congrats to Ron Berkey for a nice 299 game tonight in the Monday Summer Doubles league! 🙂
Kevin Thibeault & Matt Richard win TPS doubles in Woonsocket
A lot of the Westgate crew was back at Walnut Hill Bowl for the Tournament Players Series doubles event yesterday, with Kevin Thibeault & Matt Richard besting Danny Khuu & Sean Richard in the title match 460-426 (with handicap). Although I don’t have the scores, Kevin also said on Facebook that he threw his third 800 series (but not sanctioned) during qualifying.
Congrats everyone! 🙂
Tina Gannon bowls 278, Shirley Major 275 in Monday doubles
Noting a couple of high scores by women on July 20, Tina Gannon had a 278 game and Shirley Major a 275 in the Monday Summer Doubles league.
John Furtado bowls 299 in Monday doubles
Congrats to John Furtado for a 299 game last night in the summer doubles league.
Keith Tantillo posts 297 game in Monday doubles
Congrats to Keith Tantillo for an 11 in a row 297 Monday night in the summer doubles league. I may have an additional one, but I need to check with the desk.
Tom Hankey wins U15 boys title in 2015 Junior Gold
Like Tyler Perry previously, I’m noting a bowler from Massachusetts who did well on the national stage…
The USBC reported that Tom Hankey, a bowler out of Cove Lanes in Great Barrington, MA, was the champion of the under-15 boys division of this year’s Junior Gold tournament in Chicago. Tom led the division after qualifying and the advancers rounds, winning his first two rounds of match play before losing to Jalen Mosley. After another match, Tom turned the tables on Jalen, then defeated Jorge Rodriguez 445-387 in the title match, which will air on CBS Sports Network on Aug. 11 at 10 PM Eastern time. Tom also earned a spot on the Junior Team USA developmental team.
Prior to Junior Gold, Tom also did well in the Youth Open at Orland Bowl, currently leading the U15 scratch team (with Jersey Boys and Tom) and boys all-events titles, with Tom relating on Facebook that the bowled a 300 game in the team event.
Congratulations to Tom, and I’ll also send along my wishes for continued success. 🙂
July 12 Northeast Amateur Tournament results
Angel Hernandez won the Northeast Amateur Tournament event today at Westgate Lanes, defeating Charlie Unthank in the two-game final match by a score of 455-447 (with handicap). Jason Sherwood (who made the semifinals), Keith Kaestner, and Hakim Emmanuel were the Westgate cashers, with Keith cashing in the NAT for the first time.
Also, during qualifying, Charlie Unthank had games of 243, 279, and 290 for an 812 series (first three of four games), Corey Hanson a 300 game, and Shawn Fitzpatrick II a 299 game.
Congrats to all. 🙂

Shane Litchfield throws 297 game in Friday Junior Doubles
He might not have received an award for it even if it was in a sanctioned league, but Shane Litchfield had his first of what I call a “real” honor score a week ago Friday in the junior doubles league with a 297 game. WTG! 🙂
Sean Richard & Danny Khuu win Lefty Righty Doubleheader at Carolier
Congrats to “$eany Ka$h” Sean Richard and Danny Khuu for winning the scratch division of the third annual Lefty Righty Doubleheader at Brunswick Zone Carolier in N. Brunswick, NJ today. The format of the tournament was that there had to be one bowler with each hand on the team, with back-up bowlers counting as the opposite hand. Sean and Danny shot 2,440 for the five games, with Danny putting up a 299 second game to lead the way.
Congrats again guys! 😀
