Came to find out that Seany had to share the spotlight when he shot his milestone perfect game, as Kris Higgins had one in the TNBA league the other night, as well. Good bowling! 🙂

Sept. 23 Sunday Niters recap
I think I did mention that I’d be subbing on my Sunday Niters team instead of being a regular bowler, and my first opportunity to sub was last night, for Peter.
Last night’s bowling, frame-by-frame
Back-to-back good nights, but a little more consistent last night. My biggest problem seemed to be chopping the 6-10, but I also only missed one single pin (a 10, but I didn’t leave it often).
Result: 194-161-199=554
Average (3 games): 184
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 556
Composite average (12 games): 169
If our anchor (Eric Healy) got the second hit in the 10th second game, it would have been all eight, but we had to settle for six.
As administrivia, a limited number of Sunday Niters-related links are back in the “Author’s links” list, but standings likely won’t be there.
Sean Richard bowls 100th 300 game in TNBA league
It was always going to be a matter of where and when, not if, Sean Richard would bowl his 100th perfect game, and he made those of us at Westgate glad that it came at not only his home house, but also on the most famous pair of lanes in the house, 47 & 48, or “Hakim’s pair”, last night in the TNBA league. There is a video account of the last shot, as well, provided by Grant Henderson III, and is below:
Congrats $eany! 🙂
Sept. 19 Brunswick Mixed recap
My Week 3 bowling, frame-by-frame
It took me three weeks, but I put a little something together last night, particularly when I paid more attention to my elbow position in my swing. Spare game might need work, but that could come around.
Result: 152-173-233=558
Average (9 games): 164
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 501
Team didn’t have a great night, but still took three of four (1st & 3rd games & total).
Matt Yandek throws 290 in Pepsi league
The Pepsi league had its first notable score of the season when Matt Yandek had the back 11 in the last game for a 290. WTG! 🙂
Dan Esdale posts 300/811 in Patriots league
Alayna Esdale alerted me to it, and, after acquiring the details, I can post that two weeks into his return to the Patriots league, Dan Esdale had 244-300-267 for an 811 set last Thursday night, which are the first 300 and 800 at Westgate this season. Alayna posted a video on Facebook, but I couldn’t share it.
Congrats Easy! 🙂
2018-19 Week 2 standings update
After winning a point from Party of Six, Let’s Mix Em Up is in a three-way tie in points for 12th with Last Empire and 5 Spares. Party of Six and 10th Frame Magic are tied for the lead, with Creedens Mustangs and Tuckin’ Fenpin in a tie for 3rd, a point behind, and The Fun Team and Livin on a Spare two points behind the lead. Sweet Rolls are Wednesday night’s opponents.
Si “swept the board” when it came to division highs (men’s “D”) for the week, tying Philip Yuen for high scratch game.
Jon Gronlund bowls first 300 & 800 in Bristol-Plymouth association
Jessica Jordan of North Bowl Lanes reported to me that Jon Gronlund posted 300-232-268 for an 800 series on the button in the Thursday Night Mixed league last week. Since this was the first 300 game and 800 series in the new merged association, we made special note of it in our congratulatory post (above).
Congrats again Jon! 🙂
Sean Richard throws 809 in TNBA league
Per his post above, “$eany Ka$h” threw 266-269-274 for an 809 set in the TNBA league last night, which should be the first 800 at Westgate on the young season. We usually don’t get video of an 800 being finished off, but Jim Ferguson has this one:
Good bowling Seany! 🙂
Shawn Hagan posts 300/811 in Malden
As the post above shows, Pepsi leaguer Shawn Hagan posted 300-236-275 for an 811 last night in the Trios + 1 league in Malden. A couple of videos were available, but I picked Zach Thompson’s:
Good bowling! 🙂
Sept. 12 Brunswick Mixed recap
My Week 2 bowling, frame-by-frame
This was a little better than last week, so baby steps, I guess. The difference was probably one more made spare than last week.
Result: 152-171-146=469
Average (3 games): 153
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 465
Si had a 513 night, and we won the second game against a tough opponent; that was the only point for us, however.
2018-19 Week 1 standings update
Let’s Mix Em Up won one point, the second game, over Creeden’s Mustangs, putting us in 11th (by pinfall tiebreaker) in a 15 team league. Party of Six was the only team that won all four in the first week, and we bowl against them tomorrow night.
The divisions are close to set, so I can mention that Si had high handicap game & series in the men’s “D” division.
BBIS league to change format
The Friday night BBIS league has changed its format a little bit, with details in the flyer below:

The league is always looking for bowlers, so if you’re up to a challenge and can bowl Friday nights, consider this league.
Sept. 5 Brunswick Mixed recap (start of 2018-19 season)
First off, I’ve decided to cut back to just my Wednesday league, as I didn’t know if bracket commissions would be able to cover both leagues this season. Second, I have a fractured team, with Kathy having cataract surgery and Thomas deciding not to return. Joining me and Si is Steve Sommers, who, because of gait problems, just stands and throws, but he does seem to understand ball motion. Expecting Kathy to return later in the season, we kept the team name the same.
My Week 1 bowling, frame-by-frame
I want to attribute this to summer rust, but my second game was better because of my spare game, and my double in the third game capitalized on a Brooklyn strike.
Result: 124-171-157=452
Average (3 games): 150
Next week’s AVG+1 score: 454
Si was steady, and Steve put together a four-bagger third game to help us. We won’t know about points until the first standings update.
Of course, the links in the sidebar section about my bowling now reflect the new season, but the spreadsheet log won’t be fully set up until I know my league’s end pairs.
2018-19 Pepsi league 1st quarter lane condition
With Junior gone now, pattern selection for the Pepsi league has fallen to a committee, which has decided that Beaten Path, the pattern that ended last season, will be the one that starts this season. Of course, the graph is linked on the pattern name.
Paris Cook shoots 300, Keith Tantillo 299 in Monday doubles
Lanes 39 & 40 were the “hot” pair last night, as Keith Tantillo started the night with a 299, but it was Paris Cook finishing it with his 10th 300 game. Sean Richard provided the video of Paris below:
Nice bowling! 🙂
Sean Richard tosses 99th 300 at Wonder Bowl
If it wasn’t before, “$eany Ka$h’s” watch for his 100th 300 game is full-on now, as he had #99 last night subbing in the Columbia 300 Summer Classic league at Wonder Bowl in New Bedford. Congrats Seany, and my only hope is that I get to see #100 in person. 🙂
Danny Khuu posts 300 in Monday doubles
It involved different nights and centers, but Danny Khuu followed up his 300 (last game) Thursday night in Kingston with one in the first game last night at Westgate. Nice bowling! 🙂
Danny Khuu posts 300 in Kingston summer doubles
Sean Richard reported via Facebook video that “Khuulade” had a 300 game last night in Kingston’s summer doubles league. WTG! 🙂
Qwadaris Rembert fires 300/825 at Lang’s
Pepsi league bowler Qwadaris Rembert posted on Facebook (and followed up with me) that he had 300-257-268 for an 825 set last night at Lang’s in their Summer Classic league. Nice bowling! 🙂
Sean Richard fires 298 game in Kingston
“$eany Ka$h” reported to me that he had a chance at Kingston’s house record (816) in the summer doubles league last night after starting 279-298, but faltered in the 3rd game to lose his 800. Maybe next time!
Zach Thompson throws 299 in Malden summer league
Pepsi league regular Zach Thompson posted on Facebook that he just missed a 300 last night subbing in the Summertimers league at Town Line, with the video showing the “almighty” 10 still standing on the last shot. Nice bowling! 🙂
Keith Tantillo bowls 801, 300 in Monday doubles
Keith Tantillo put together a big set the other night in the summer doubles league, with 257-298-246 for an 801, then followed that up the best way possible, with a 300 4th game. WTG! 🙂
Bob Dimuccio tosses 812 at Lang’s
Congrats to Bob Dimuccio of the Pepsi league, who posted 276-280-256 (first three) for an 812 set last night in the Wednesday Summer Trios league at Lang’s. Nice bowling! 🙂
Stan Lewis rolls 300/804, Danny Khuu, Joe Bourhill 300 in Monday doubles
It can definitely be said that the Monday Summer Doubles league is the summer season’s version of the Patriots league because of the quantity of high scores, and this summer’s league didn’t disappoint on its first night. I’ll start by noting Joe Bourhill’s 300 game, which was the first one in Massachusetts for this New York transplant. Joe’s wife Stephanie (Hamilton) got the video below:
The third game saw two more 300s, by Danny Khuu and Stan Lewis, with the latter having added that to games of 257 and 247 for an 804 set. Sean Richard got both of these videos, staring with Stan’s:
And now Danny’s:
Nice bowling, guys! 🙂
2017-18 season wrap-up
With the last of the winter leagues now over, I can now recap the season with the high scores for the season for both the men and women. As usual, average will be based on a minimum of 72 games in the league, with youth bowlers included with their gender, where applicable. Also, I’ve decided not to try to list all of the men with 300 games, as there were 17 of them in the Thursday Night Patriots league alone.
Men
Average: 240.83; Jim Ferguson (Thursday Night Patriots, 102 games)
Series: 835; Jim Ferguson (Thursday Night Patriots)
Game: 300 (consult individual league standing sheets)
Women
Average: 212.52; Sandi Litchfield (Thursday Night Patriots, 72 games)
Series: 740; Jessica Lowe (TNBA Mixed)
Game: 300; Jessica Lowe (TNBA Mixed)
Note: Jim Ferguson’s 240.83 average stands as the new association record.
Links to the league standings indexes on Bowler Express and LeagueSecretary.com are in the sidebar for all who are interested in a particular league.
Bill Briggs shoots 2nd 300 of season in Pepsi league
Two 300 games by the same bowler in a Pepsi league season is a feat, and accomplished by Bill Briggs last night. The game followed up one in the last league week (with no bowling last week because of the Memorial Day holiday) by his Eklund Electric teammate, Tim Riordan, making it three of the seven this season bowled by that team.
I had my camera out for this one because I’d forgotten I got Bill’s other one, and he noticed that fact, telling me at the end of the night that that made him nervous. I’m posting it anyway, as he made a great shot to finish it.
Congrats again Bill! 🙂
Westgate Lanes to offer summer leagues during renovations
It had been rumored that Westgate Lanes will close this summer for renovations, but they’ve announced that they’ll remain open during said renovations and offer summer leagues. The schedule will be the ones Westgate has been offering under the Minassians, Monday Summer Doubles, Summer His & Hers on Tuesday, Wednesday Summer Mixed, and Adult/Junior on Thursday. Please check the Westgate Lanes website (newly redesigned) for meeting and starting dates.
Bob Dimuccio Jr. rolls 300 at Lang’s
I’ve learned that Pepsi league bowler Bob Dimuccio (Jr.) started his summer league, the Pete’s Doubles league at Lang’s Bowlarama, with a 300 game last night. Nice bowling! 🙂
Tim Riordan fires 300 in Pepsi league
Tim Riordan only bowls the Pepsi league, but he’s made the most of it, as, last night, he posted a 300 game, which is now the third one of his that I’ve written about. WTG! 🙂
UPDATE: Zach Thompson has made the video below available.
